Moto G 2015 "Ghost or Phantom Touches"

Hello, I'm having issues with my Moto G 2015, the screen registers input when I'm not touching it, I switched on developer mode and set it to shot touches, and this was the result:

It does this seemingly at random, and it almost makes it entirely unusable. I've tried wiping the cache and factory resetting the device, and it still has issues. I've also tried cleaning the charging port with a can of air, and cleaning the screen. I'm not using a screen protector.

Any insight would be appreciated.

Droid Turbo-Retrieving Files

Earlier today, I was messing around with the Developer Options in Android's settings. I am not a developer, but I decided to explore it anyways. In Developer Options, I accidentally enabled the force RTL layout. A couple seconds afterwards, I got a message saying, "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped." and only an option to select OK. After doing that, it comes up again. Trying to tap out of it doesn't work , and it's always there on a reboot into normal Android and Safe Mode.
I've had this problem before when I was enabling everything, not knowing what they did, but then I had everything backed up and it was fixed by doing a factory reset from recovery mode. Now, I haven't backed anything up in over a month and I'm wondering if there is a way to somehow recover any files that I have, like pictures. I have tried searching for anything I can do using "adb sideload" but it looks like that's only for zip files. Are there any things I can flash using that to help? I don't think I have normal ADB enabled, because when I do "adb devices" nothing shows up.
I haven't unlocked the bootloader or rooted it, so maybe there isn't a way, but I'd be glad if somebody could help.

No sound from notifications

SlimKat 4.4.4 on SGH-T-999
Flashed about a year ago, no issues except camera (Can't access camera sometimes. CM does this also. Not the point of this post)
Recently noticed I'm not getting sound from Google voice notifications. I get the Notification bar & LED flash.
I wiped app data & reinstalled. The sounds came back. I set the notification tone & it worked about a day.
It stopped working again. I just now realized that other notifications not making noise either.

Interesting fact is that in the app/notification sound picker, the sounds don't preview. When you pick a new sound, it is supposed to play so you can tell which sound. There is no sound. I have Business Calendar Pro, SplenDo (Tasks), Hangouts, GMail. No app plays the sound when you change the notification sound.

I have phone ringtone & it will accept changes & it plays the sample when you change it.
I can play audio from a few different apps (Google music, Spotify, ES File Exp, Onkyo Player)

The only reason I'm posting it here is it seems to be affecting everything, so I dont think it's an individual app.

Not sure where to look next.

*Need Help* Bootloader will not unlock

the flaps used to protect the water from goin are very weak so after 6 months the flaps become lose and water starts goin in and u wont even know and then ur phone dies suddenly and when u go to customer care they say that we must hav not closed the flap properly and but even if we tell them it was closed propely they say the water intrugen paper is red so it is out of water but these guys never tell u that the flaps girp is gone so i repaired my phone paying 16000Rs when still under warranty of 5 months after that i put in water it again in water the water was inside the phone the first tym after repair and its horizontel segment of the screen is not working.so then i came to know that the flaps were faulty i went again to customer service center he says water has gone in n the paper is red so ur phone is out of warranty i told him flaps are faulty n he tell to call customer care n then customer care tell THAT IT IS MY FAULT THAT THE FLAPS ARE FAULTY I SHOLUD KNOW THAT THE FLAPS ARE FAULT and this is how the cheat people and make money buy geting cheap parts and and stating that is not there fault.

when i went to sony service center i told him i had put my phone in water ... which water ... normal tap water in the sinc not more then 15 cm and only for 30 sec REPLY : No sir u can not put ur phone in water for this long .... i was like what ... the service center is also not aware of T & C and what good services they will do to the customer..

Main problem : IF THE WATER INTRUGEN PAPER IS RED ITS OUT OF WARRNTY NO MATTER WHAT THE PROBLEM IS ..IT OUT ..

Conclusion : BUYING A Z XERIES PHONE IS A RISK COZ IT IS EXPENSIVE AND WHAT EVER MAY HAPPEN CUSTOMER IS WRONG ..CUSTOMER CARE IS RIGHT......

[Urgent Help] S2 Bricked while flashing firmware and is now unrecognized by pc.

Suddenly my phone went into bootloop and couldn't access recovery. So I tried to flash firmware with odin, toward the end of the flash odin failed as the USB cable was unfortunately disrupted. Now the only thing I can get out of the phone is download mode, and a screen that says firmware ugrade encountered an issue, Please select recovery mode in Kies & try again. Now the problem with this is now odin nor Kies will recognize my phone like there are no drivers. My pc says unrecognized device connected.

Please help me to unbrick my S2 GT-19100. I REALLY NEED THIS BACK TO LIFE.

Galaxy View Screen Flickering : Running Apps Crash

During the development and testing of an apk i have noticed that Samsung Galxy view is quite unstable and if i leave an app running including my own app then it just crash. It seems like screen flickering keeps going on. Is there a known solution to this ?
There is no firmware fix or any thing else that is publicly available. I have noticed that similar issues were present on previous samsung products as well. Any one who experienced this and found a work around please share.

I did something stupid. After I rooted my phone I did a little clean up of apps I don't use. Well the LG setup was one of them, I uninstalled it. Well I did a factory reset. I forget that doesn't restore uninstalled apps. So as soon as I rebooted my phone I could only get through the first part of the setup. My phone boots and go through the setup. But when its done it goes right back through the setup.

My option are to do an unroot and install a stock system.

Install a stock rooted system.

or adb the apk to the phone, do a reset and hope that it was just the LG setup app.

He had to sit down on an unknown object urgently. It was a different world with a anomalous gravity and dangerous machinery.
This place was really an angry planet with saws and labyrinths. Any step here can destroy his.
But he need to collect all the possible super crystals from this hell for a shuttle, so as not to die on this planet.

Need help to downgrade from 5.1.1 to 5.0

My client just bought for me a SM-900A with Android 5.1.1 (LMY47X.G900AUCU4COI5). I'm using it for application testing, so I currently need to downgrade it from 5.1.1 to 5.0. I did search the stock firmware but could not find anything except the file G900AUCU3BOC4_OneClick.exe. I just gave it a try but it failed.
Is there any way to downgrade to 5.0?

adb missing from /system/bin

Appears adb is missing from the /system/bin directory. Does anyone have a way to get around this issue? I need to have adb working in Terminal Emulator. I have copied the file from my old Note 4 and placed it on my sdcard. I have navigated to that folder in the emulator but it won't run due to the $PATH variable.

Any insight is appreciated.

Note 4 Cannot stay in stock or ROM

Originally working and on an older version of CM Remix (Lollipop) that i set up for my brother. I also having a note 4 forgot that his bootloader was not at least updated to the DOK2 firmware when i saw that he had not updated the ROM since i had installed. I installed the latest version of CM Remix (Marshmallow) and then the only problem was that the SD card was not detected. Remembering that i forgot that it hadn't been updated, i tried reverting the phone back to stock through Odin 3.07, as to update the bootloader and now our issue is that after booting into the starting screens with the Galaxy agreements, close to or as soon as NFC is enabled the phone shuts down and restarts.

Dropped S5 - screen is black, sound and home button still works

So, like the title says, I dropped my S5 today. I have a case on it, so it wasn't a direct hit, but nonetheless, the screen isn't coming on now. There are no cracks or visible damage on the outside and there is still sound. The LED still works, the home button is still functional, the capacitive buttons still work, it's just the screen. I realize that the easiest thing to do would be to send the phone into T-mobile and get a replacement, but I need a way of backing up the app data. Would you guys know of any solutions?
I am trying to pull a backup image, but I am not even know if the process I am using will even work for me or if I can restore the image afterwards.

Wilson3q CM12 to MIUI 7

Hello all,
I want to move from CM12 (Wilsons3q) to the latest MIUI 7 Global Stable. Im having a problem getting my phone recognized through the MiFlash program I originally used to get to CM12. I go into fastboot mode on the phone but the program does not recognize the phone. Ive tried this on 2 different computers. I installed the universal ADB drivers and still nothing. Does anyone know why the phone isnt recognized anymore?

Caseology Messenger Case Review

Really interesting idea for a case. I think it is probably one of the few cases that stands out from your typical tpu, dual hybrid, or heavy bumper style cases. The back fabric is a soft tweed material (think old sport coat or blazer jacket) and there's a nice leather pouch sewn right into the center for your cards. You can check it out HERE

The thing I like about the case is that it kind of warms up the S7 if that makes sense. The S7 feels cold because it's all glass and metal so the leather with the fabric accents on this case make it feel and look different. Some people would probably say this is the most hipster looking case since it kind of reminds of a moleskin notebook or some other type of handmade leather work, but I think that speaks to the quality of their stuff.

I wouldn't put in more than 1 or 2 cards because it will definitely stretch but if you're looking for something different this case might fit your needs.

[Philippines][HELP] CM 12.1 on Lenovo A536 using MTK6582M - Cannot detect SIM

Hey guys,
I'm a newbie on this forums, but I've long been a lurker searching for mods on my old Galaxy Y. Since I got a new smartphone and wasn't satisfied with its interface on KitKat (cursed Lenovo), I decided to mod my smartphone by flashing in TWRP and deleting everything and installing CyanogenMod 12.1 cyandrew's version for the Lenovo A536.

Problem is, it wouldn't detect my SIM, which is of Globe Telecom - Philippines origin. I got this A536 from one of Globe Telecom's promos where they would give a free smartphone with a postpaid SIM, but adding in a monthly payment to the bill. So I got this Lenovo A536 from them.

Forget the postpaid SIM, I trashed it since they kept adding hidden payments, I'm using one of their prepaid SIMs.

Back on track, I installed cyandrew's CM 12.1 for Lenovo A536, and now it doesn't read any SIM. I tried sticking in my parents' SIM on both slots 1 and 2, but no bueno. I tried my SIM on their smartphones to see if my SIM was damaged, but they read it, so the SIM's out of play here.

I've done some research and I've led to think that, when I wiped my smartphone clean using TWRP, the firmware for the built-in Mediatek MT6582M has been wiped, so there's no cell radio control for the SIM card to be read. Oddly enough, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth works perfectly fine though, so I am real confused.

Could it really be the firmware? If so, can someone hand me their A536 MTK6582M firmware and teach me how to install it?

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated, since I'm stuck with no means of cell communication.

I'll add some specs here. Note though that I haven't paid any attention to the kernel and baseband version before I flashed the phone clean.

Fire TV Remote Microphone - Helpful Anomaly?

I recently upgraded my Fire TV to the latest 4K model. I was delighted to find this model could be easily rooted (thanks to XDA devs), but was disappointed that the microphone on the remote control (which I otherwise love for its simplicity) is still rendered essentially useless outwith Amazon content. What a total waste of an opportunity, with Android TV etc expanding every day!

Anyway, I was testing out an app I recently purchased called SoundSeeder Music Player which allows you to play back audio via multiple devices around your home (like Sonos). I have installed the Play Store on my Fire TV (following the instructions laid out here and at AFTV News) so the SoundSeeder app installed and seemed to be working well (it didn't work prior to installing the Play Store). The odd thing I noticed, however, was this: There is a Mic/AUX Mode within the SoundSeeder player, which allows you to stream a live feed from your microphone. I didn't think it would do anything, of course, since the Fire TV doesn't have a built-in mic like a smartphone, but I started the service anyway and noticed that the graphical audio levels seemed to be registering incoming sounds, so I tried pressing the microphone button on the Fire TV remote and, amazingly, it registered my voice (with a faint echo) for as long as I pressed the microphone button down. I did this for about a minute before trying to stop the service, but doing so crashed the Fire TV and I had to restart.

Does the fact that this happened indicate that there may be a way to utilise the Fire TV remote as a microphone for other apps?

The only pertinent thread I could find on XDA - http://goo.gl/21crhi - identified that one of the files being utilised by the Fire TV to control the microphone was "com.amazon.vizzini.apk", but there was no final conclusion as to how it might be utilised. The developer provided a small RAR file (search.rar) for download, but I wasn't sure what to do with it (flash it?) and I'm not keen on disabling key Amazon services, which was also advised.

It would be fantastic if someone could develop an app or a simple method of registering the microphone as a regular smartphone mic so it could be used for Google Now or Android TV or even as a wireless microphone in an audio application. I'm sure a lot of people have been over this, but I thought it was worth mentioning in case this anomaly opens up any new options as regards making the built-in mic a thing of beauty rather than the irritating, pointless feature it is now (those of us in the UK can't even make use of Alexa).

(REVIEW) Revised Spigen Curved Crystal HD Screen Protector

Spigen sent me some revised protectors today after emailing me that they were having problems with the adhesive on the sides.

The new ones are perfect. Went on easy, sides stayed down.

I'll report back in a few days to ensure it hadn't lifted, but ad of the last few hours, it perfect.

Is there only a limited amount of times you can flash your phone?

I had to have my samsung mega OS reinstalled. I had 4.2. they flashed 4.4. . My SVOX voices and certain other apps are not working correctly and force close. My Alarm Clock Xtreme and Alarm Clock Plus sleep along with my CPU and don't trigger at the proper time. But they seem to work when the phone is already active.

I asked the cell phone repair company who flashed my phone if they could flash it to 4.2. and they said versions can not be downgraded and I was stuck with 4.4. I told them that I didn't want a downgrade but a total reflash to 4.2. . They said they could try but there was no guarantee that it would work they said every time you flash a phone it blows a fuse and eventually won't work anymore.

Is this true?

Note 5 sprint data issue

I unlocked my note sprint but i am facing a very weird data issue.. M using it on cdma sim... I programmed my phone via sea and everything works well but m facing issue with data... My data works only when Hands-free activation is running in background activating network, once it stops my data stops working.. I turned on/off data, airplane mode but data doesn't work at all...
When i go to settings and click on ACTIVATE THIS DEVICE my data starts working again until the Activation process doesn't fail...
I flashed back stock rom, tried custom rom, did RTN RESET but still facing the same issue... Even blocked hands free activation but after blocking that data never turns on... Please help

Is this a good replacement battery for i9100?

Just rooted my i9100 and 10 mins after first boot into new rom i found out that my orginal i9100 battery dies. Even if it`s charged to 100%.

Anyway, got a hold of a similar battery from my brother, think its from a galaxy S* active of some sort. Now im wondering if it can function as a replacement.
I have tested it and phone seem to work like normal.

So; is there anything i should be aware of? Phone reads it like it`s a 1650 mA, even if its a 1500mA..

Note 5 Won't Charge

Tonight was listening to music and my battery ran to what I assume is 0%, it was at 2 while listening to music and I ran to get laundry and by the time I was half way through my music stopped suddenly, assuming it died. Went to charge it tonight and it wouldn't charge, showed the battery symbol and the charging plug. LED doesn't light up, was able to boot to recovery, and volume down to restart, got to home screen for 0.5s and it showed 0% on battery symbol, no charging symbol, and then shut off. Now it doesn't have enough juice to even tell me to charge it or boot to recovery/odin anymore.

Tried multiple chargers, stock charger, wireless chargers, nothing is getting juice into this thing. No new apps installed besides Fitbit and MyFitnessPal 2 days ago when I got my new Blaze.

Anyone have this happen before?

s7 edge tmobile or international version?

Hi Guys,

Im in a little dilemma, I purchased the S7 G935T and it is coming in tomorrow. So I've been reading a lot about the phone and the known stuff about the bootloader and what not. So should I just return it(Costing $800+) and get the international version (G935F costing $700 on ebay)? I know Samsung Pay will not work and I really don't care about that that much. I mean it's something cool but not a die for feature. I really want the video calling feature that tmobile offer on these higher smartphones though. Are there any other features that the tmobile version might have over the international version? I tried to look but couldn't find much. If I get the international version, that means I can root the phone install custom roms and have less to no bloatwares. Let me know what are the Pros/Cons of getting the international version. Someone found S7E indeed can read Dual SIM with SdCard running at the same time.

So simply peek off the golden part of the SIM and stick it to a SdCard, then put it together with another SIM onto the tray. Magic happens! :good:

HTC Desire 512 Root? Yes, 512

I have an HTC Desire 512, didn't know where to post this. I actually had the change to root using the app Sunshine, but it resets after every boot. Is there any hidden support for this device? I have seen before that someone has used a HTC Desire 510 TWRP on the 512 to successfully root the 512, but im sure if that is valid.

Kies Won't Accept My Serial Number

I am trying to use kies to fix my n910a but it won't accept my serial number for firmware upgrade option. Air audio options?

Anyone know if there is a way to steam audio to a network receiver over wifi, not Bluetooth and not local music. Looking to be able to steam via dlana with music apps such as iheart etc. Only option I know that does this is airaudio but that requires root. Anyone know of any other options?

How to remote debug android via network with screen casting?

Hi guys,
One of our tester is working in other city( long distance from us). while testing our apps, his devices raise some strange bugs often,
and we have to send our new debug apk to let him install and test every time, then we have to wait for his feedback( sometime need screencap or screenrecord etc.)

it lose us much time.

can we have a solution to find a way that remote debug a android device via network( optative with screencast to our PC ), not via wifi?
Like he connect his android device to his PC, and install some software, and our developers can using their eclipse to remote debug the tester's devices?

Going from 4.4(Not 4.4.4) to 5.1

Hey guys. I haven't updated my phone since 4.4 (Not 4.4.4) because I've done all kinds of tweaks & added xposed & such. I've been really happy with my phone, so I purposely disabled OTA updates.

Well, after all these years it's time for me to wipe & start over. I'd like to keep it official because I need rock-solid stability.(I only restart my phone once or twice a month currently) so that means OTA 5.1. What path should I take to do this without bricking? I'll be manually copying stuff I want to retain, so I don't need to keep data or anything like that. I don't care about wave-to-wake because I've never had that "feature". I usually do all my de-bloating & tweaking manually, so I just want plain-jane OTA reliability as a start.

XT1060, Verizon, Developer Edition. Unlocked bootloader & currently rooted. Will I be able to root 5.1 via the normal methods once I'm on 5.1? I usually use minimal adb/fastboot to do this stuff, but I'm not opposed to using one of the various "tools/1-click/all-in-one". I just want a clean start.

Unable publish app as it is blocked by Alpha testing

Currently, I have a production app, which is using SDK 21.

Since it requires a huge engineering work, to port the app to SDK 23, we make another unstable Alpha release, by using SDK 23

Today, I need to make a critical bug fix release, for our production app.

However, since we have an Alpha app with SDK 23, it prevents us from publishing the new production app, which is using SDK 21.

I try to de-activate Alpha testing, but it just won't help. Please see my screenshot.

Anything I do, so that I can publish my critical bug fixed production app, with SDK 21?

Note, upgrade production app to SDK 23 immediately is not an option, as we realize that requires a huge engineering effort (New permission model, most of our custom made UIs break under SDK 23, ...). That's why we spawn another alpha app.

Anyone else seeing impossible battery stats for bluetooth on the latest MM stock rom? 21 days? I think not. This rom hasn't even been around for 21 days.

Music Storage and Bluetooth Headphones

Can anyone confirm that with the newer versions of Android Wear 5/6 that you can store and play music from the Live over paired bluetooth headphones?

I read somewhere that with the newer versions of AW that it would allow for local storage of music. I am hoping the watch has the right protocols to stream music over paired bluetooth headphones WITHOUT the need for a cell phone.

AOSP soft bricks my S5??

I've looked all over for answers on this. I hope I didn't miss something, but here is my issue:

After being fed up with Touchwiz, I tried flashing AOSP ROMs instead. Ever since then, every AOSP ROM I flash will freeze during boot (usually it freezes after 15-20 seconds), I'll see a glitched image for 10 seconds, and then reboot. This bootloop has happened with AICP, Resurrection Remix, and a few others. I'm about to try CyanogenMod, but I assume that will fail as well since the others were mostly based off CM. I always wipe data, cache, and dalvik before flashing (sometimes system too, and now internal storage to try to fix this issue).
Can anyone figure this out?

(BTW I have very limited access to a PC and my Mac refuses to recognize this phone in download mode, so Odin isn't readily available and Heimdall has been no good so far.)

HTC Desire 820 dual sim

Hi,

I own a HTC Desire 820 Dual Indian Variant a51_dtul and I am always asking recovery mode and bootloader unlocked. I recently downloaded custom rom but it didn't seem to do anything. And when i tried some different roms it shows invalid partition couldn't install and it failed to install roms. It was the last thing I did with my device before this happened. Kindly help pls.

Backing up data with a broken screen

Hi guys,

My phone had a freak accident today and to cut the story short the screen doesnt respond anymore. Thankfully the phone still works but i just cannot use it.

I want to make a back up of all the data on the device but I cannot do that because I cannot unlock the device! How else can I back the data up?

My device is not rooted.

How to make my blocked/rejected calls go away!

Is there an app would make my blocked / Reject phone number go away and not show up on my "always on" - "locked screen" - "Home screen pull-down" screens. What is the point of blocking/rejecting a call if they keep showing up on my phone??? The only thing I want showing up on my "always on" & "locked" screens is text messages. I'm really hoping I don't have to root to do this. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge.

Posible bootloader unlock?

Ok I am not a guru or noting but since I received my phone today I decided to try some adb.

1) enable oem unlock under developer option

2) booted into fastboot

3) run adb command fast oem unlock

4) my phone restarted and it was wipe and not when I boot it say "device software can't not be checked for curuption"

5) run a adb bootloader check and it doesn't say unlock or lock so I am stuck lol any suggestions?

Format as internal?

I was excited about marshmallow because I heard I could format SD in such a way so I wouldn't have to move apps to sd card to utilize SD card for extra storage. However I cannot seem to find it.

Google voicemail won't play(verizon)

So I set up google voice to work on my 6P but when I don't answer, nothing plays. I still get a notification on my phone that I got a voicemail but the person calling me doesn't hear any greeting. I have set one up though. Any ideas what the problem may be?

I reset the google voice app and when it tries to setup the voicemail, it says unfortunately your network carrier is currently not supported for automatic voicemail configuration. Not sure what to do. I hit configure and tried both your carrier and google voice for the service and still have the same problem as above. If I click google voice, I get the your network doesn't support automatic voicemail configuration. Any help?

H810 Tethering authentication failure

Hi Everyone,

I recently got myself a Unlocked AT&T LG G4 from USA. I'm currently using an Airtel sim in India.

I was able to successfully upgrade the phone to Marshmallow.
Android Version: 6.0
Build Number: MRA58K
Software Version: H81020n

I'm unable to activate mobile hotspot (tethering). I keep getting AUTHENTICATION FAILURE.

I have tried various steps as mentioned in the forum but non seems to help. My phone is non-rooted. I would like to keep it non-rooted.

Can someone please help me to fix this problem?

S7 Edge exynos bluetooth range issue

Hello all,
I wanted to know if I was the only one with this Issue !
I used AnyMote app to control my TVs/projector/cableBox/sound/ect since my galaxy S4 ( I had my galaxy s4 for 1 year and S5 for 2 years).
So now that the S7 has no IT ( :crying: ) I order the new Anymote home which is a bluetooth connected device that sends IR signal at 360 degree around the room.. pretty neat !
But the problem I get now is that I have to be 5 meter away from the device for it to receive my command.
On my Galaxy note 10.1 2014 edition, i can anywhere in the house and it works.
But really not with the S7 !

Is it that the S7 really has a poor bluetooth range ?

By now, I am a bit disapointed from the S7 :(
My S5 was perfect for me, but the S7 really was awesome on sheet.
I never had a case on any phone I had, but after 2 weeks on the S7 and alreay full scratch on the back, on the Led glass and 1 on the front!! Even tho I take really care of it !!!
Wifi is nothing near My S5 .... the S5 catched my wifi from 300meter away ... I need to be in the house with the S7 !

Do I have a Wifi and Bluetooth issue ?

After comparing several phones, I am interested in buying Sony Xperia M5 phone.

However, I came across several comments on different websites about a "Battery Lock" issue where the phone shuts down itself often.

Now I am confused whether to go for this phone or not.

Is there anyway that I can identify whether the unit which I am buying suffers from this issue or not?

Sending files via Bluetooth without pairing

I was asked to bluetooth something to someone. Our devices weren't paired. I selected the file that I wanted to share, tapped share, chose Bluetooth, and selected the person's device. I was surprised when the file was successfully sent.

How was this possible?

How to flash a radio

Hello,

I've been trying to find a way to flash the new radios that came with 6.0.
I flashed cyanogenmod when I was still on 5.x so I never updated with the official rom. I went from cm12 to cm13.

I there any way to extract the radio from the canadian OTA and flash it without going completely back to stock?

New Rom, 3GB User Data, Updated/modded MTC Apps and working Weather

Been a while since I made a ROM for an Android Headunit so I am a little rusty, but hopefully this works.
This is basically the JY ROM from 9/23/2015 with:
the userdata partition changed to 3GB
modded JY apps (4.8 for music, 4.2 for radio, 4.1 for BT and 4.0 Blue for videos - see this thread for details of them - Thanks to @sabruri1, @ANACLETOESTR, @pk313 and @robertut for their work on the apps).
also MTCWeather was updated to 1.4.1 so currently it is working like it should.

I haven't tested this so make sure you know what you are doing and currently it is only RK3188 1024x600 (I may make other versions if it works and there is demand).

Rom isn't rooted and has nothing else added (I wanted something as close to stock as possible, I just didn't want to have to use root explorer to copy in all the updated system apps repeatedly.
Root should work with the factory setting password tho.

Anyway hopefully someone can test.

Also:
Since the userdata partition is changing size you need to wipe data before and after flashing.

Backup with TWRP question

Ok i have a rooted nexus with TWRP with my setup perfect. I have another nexus that i haven't opened or setup yet. can i backup my setup unit with TWRP and load the backup onto my new nexus unit once i root it with twrp?

i think i would run into trouble with a phone but think with the nexus it should be fine?

Mate 7 (MT7-L09) Bootloop, unable to flash roms via recovery, fastboot not working

Hello guys,

I tried to update my phone to marshmellow, it got stuck at 95% and after it it entered a bootloop, I thought on just installing a custom recovery and take it from there but when I use fastboot it gives me a Remote: command not allowed error, I have my bootloader unlocked, I am thinking this has to do with not having USB debugging enabled, I can´t access the phone to activate it though. I have also tried to flash lots of stock roms through sd putting them on dload folder on Sds root but it fails right away at 5% it says update install failed, at this point Im not sure what to do... Any ideas?

Bluetooth draining battery.

Anyone else having Bluetooth at the top of their battery stats? After the marshmallow update my Bluetooth has been draining my battery. It's sometimes double the screen usage. I tried clearing cache and data on the Bluetooth share app, but it didn't help. I don't want to do a factory reset unless it will help.

Samsung Flip cover turns off Android Auto screen.

I use a Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android Auto on a Mylnk system, and it works fine, except for this small quirk.

If the phone flip cover is open, everything works fine, and after a while the phone screen turns off, while the car Android Auto screen continues to work.
But if I close the flip cover, then the car Android Auto screen turns black.

Given Android Auto is smart enough not to turn off the car screen when the phone screen goes to sleep, I am suspecting a bug in the interaction between the Android Auto App and the Samsung Flip cover.

Anyone else witness this issue with other flip covers?
Any workaround aside from disabling the flip cover feature (which I Like outside of Android Auto)?

Reboot defaults to TWRP instead of the SYSTEM

Hi,

I setup the following ROM on my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 device:

Everything seems to have gone well. I am able to use the device as expected.

Though if I Power Off the device and start it again, the system goes into TWRP directly. I am able to select Reboot->System which then reboots into the system.

How can I force the startup to go to System and only bring up TWRP when I press the specific recovery key combination?

S-View strange issue

So, I got a new S-View case today (Spigen Slim Armor View) and found out that when I closed the window completely, the s-view functions didn't work. But, when I had it partially open, it did work. Was wondering if anybody has had this issue before, or if anybody knew a possible fix. Thanks!

Android system and Android OS battery drain on MM

Hey guys. If anyone knows how to fix it. Please point me in the direction and or other topics that have talked about this. It doesn't happen when phone is awake but when the phone sleeps. It comes up in full force. I don't have nfc/sync off and no xposed.. I have 2 apps installed. Xda and a game. I use riverrom v9. I've talked to others who have issues (not rom related) if I restored data from lp. My device wouldn't sleep. But fresh install it does. But the above mentioned still happens.

Top microphone not working.

Been noticing that I say ok Google at the top of the phone and nothing happens then say it at the bottom and it works. Tested with the phone in safe mode and it still happened. If i block the bottom microphone it can't pick up anything. Anyone else can test this to see if they have the same issue or if it's just me that got a defective device.

Considering upgrade to Note 4

I've had my Note 2 for 3.5 years now and I still like it but have recently been trying to decide whether it's time to move on and get something newer.

I think the only phone that I'd really consider is the Note 4 (the 5 isn't available in the UK :( ). I'd probably be looking at paying the same for an 18 month old phone as I did when I got my N2 (£30/m) and I got that the same month it was released.

Is it much of an upgrade over the Note 2 and does it still hold its own against newer phones released? I like the S Pen and screen size otherwise I might consider something else. Or I could just keep my N2 for another year.

Skinny Pro Custom Boot Images

What is Skinny Pro?
It is not a custom Kernel - it is a custom boot.img containing modified initialization scripts for the stock kernel.
It turns the Redmi Note 2 from a dull phone into a brilliant phone.
I will maintain 2 versions - 1 for MIUI and one for generic AOSP based ROMs. Both versions currently use MIUI 7.2.20 as the base.
I do not advise flashing of preloader or uboot images from custom ROMs as this can lead to soft bricking your phone. There is nothing to be gained if you are coming from MIUI 7.1.1 or later.

Design Brief:
No embedding of "tweaks" in the boot.img
No Placebos
To overcome the limitations of Stock MIUI being:

• Poor battery life
• Poor performance
• Chronic invasion of privacy

Boot.img mods:
Disable starting of non-present devices and services
Disable starting of (some) invasive (spying) services
Remove all fingerprint sensor infrastructure not intended for this phone
Reconfigured SDCard suppport to remove legacy symlinks and rationalize representation.
Built in init.d support
Supports correct zram swap creation (disable conflicting MIUI "mcd" service and infrastructure)

What you get:
Marginally faster boot
Less background activity at idle
Less RAM usage
Less spying activity
Better battery life
Better Performance
Ability to set tweaks of your choice via init.d (careful not to add conflicting tweaks!!!)

How to install?
You must have at least MIUI 7.1.1 installed previously.
The boot.img can be used on an existing installation or as part of a new installation.
It will eliminate any customized tweaks that are embedded in previous boot images.

• Install as "Image" from TWRP
• Flash via SP Tools if you are familiar with it or......
• Flash via Fastboot.
• No wipes required before or afterwards.

Warning: Whatever was on the internal (emulated) sdcard will be dumped into a folder named "0" on /storage/sdcard0
Move the files back to /storage/sdcard0 to recover.

What else should be done after this?
1. Open /etc/perfservscntbl.txt in a text editor and edit as follows:

CMD_SET_CPU_FREQ, SCN_APP_TOUCH, 403000
CMD_SET_CPU_CORE, SCN_APP_TOUCH, 1

2. Create an init.d script exactly as follows:
For 2GHz variants:

Text message app randomly pressing call

I've been having an issue from day one with my S7. When closing a text message, at least once a day the app will call the person whose message I'm closing. It's getting kind of frustrating. Is there maybe a gesture that I can disable that may be triggering this?

Can't edit lidroid-res.apk

I want to change the text color of toggles.
I changed only the textColor=#ff6f6f6 and shadowColor=#00000000 in layout/power_widget.xml
And after compiling & signing i pushed it to system/framework and the phone stuck in bootloop.

Replacement batteries.

Have had my note 4 that i bought from swappa for a week now and would like to buy some extra batteries.I know that anker has normal replacement batteries and would like yo know how good they are since i am thinking of purchasing them.

Downloading Offline Area

I am unable to download an offline map. No matter what area I choose, the download process begins and progresses about 60%-90%. I cleared Map's cache, but that did not help. I am not sure if it is safe to delete Map Data as I get a warning about deleting account data. Any suggestions to get an offline area downloaded?

About battery stats

I just didn't got one thing in battery stats. ..
In samsung smartphones, Android os and Android system both consumes about 2-3% battery
whereas
in Asus zenfone 2, the same processes consumes about 50% approx battery!!
why?
If this thing is addressed, wouldn't the battery last long for this smartphone too...

Good value replacement in-ear earphones: Xiaomi Piston 3

After running through a few sets of Samsung earbuds with my Note 4--generally, they would snag on something, following which one of the earbuds would stop working--I looked for something more durable, with significantly better sound, but without breaking the bank. A hi-fi stereo system, it's not.

My research led me to the Xiaomi Piston 3, a joint product of the same company that makes the phones and 1More, which offers well-regarded earphones at significantly higher price points.

To get the best price, I also looked for a reliable Chinese vendor. I ended up buying from Gearbest. Last August, I paid $15.13 plus $1.67 for faster shipping; slower shipping was, and still is, free. Today, I see Gearbest has them for $12.29.

Even at twice the price, I think they'd be a bargain. I enjoyed them thoroughly, listening mostly to classical music, acoustic folk music, folk rock, jazz, and popular music. theheadphonelist recommends them, rating them 10/10 for value.: "Very comfortable fit; fantastic sound quality for the price; 3-button Android remote." It's sound signature is somewhat v-shaped, meaning that the bass and treble are somewhat enhanced. I say "somewhat," because if you're a real bass-head, they're not for you. On the other hand, the mids are fairly clear and present.

They have a microphone and three-button remote located on the cable to the right ear. All three buttons work on Android phones. In using the Piston 3 for phone functions, people on the other end never complained about call quality. They come with four sets of eartips: XS, S. M (on the earphones), and L.

I found the Piston 3s quite comfortable to wear for long listening sessions. Over a little over six months, they worked flawlessly. Perhaps because of the wrapping of the cables, the occasional snag didn't led to disaster.

My only problem is that I somehow lost them shortly after getting by Galaxy S7. After more research, I decided to try the newest model Xiaomi earphones, with hybrid dual drivers, that is, the Xiaomi Hybrids have one dynamic driver for low frequencies and one armature driver for high and mid frequencies. Again, I've bought from Gearbest, $16.99 plus free shipping, or faster for only a little more. After I've had and listened with them for a reasonable time, I'll report back.

Meanwhile, I'd appreciate others' thoughts, and especially experience with the S7.
