So I received my gear VR the other day and was eager to show some friends. Since they were new to the device and it is difficult to tell them what to do, I used Chromecast mirroring while in the gear VR so I could tell them where to look and such.
After about 15 minutes I received a warning along the lines of the phone was overheating and that the graphics would be reduced to reduce heat. I dismissed it and kept going. After about another 30 min I removed the phone and it was HOT.
I checked CPU-Z and the highest sensor reading was at 60°C (140°C). My question is, is this temp okay for this phone? I thought if the phone gets too hot for its taste it would just shut down, and that never happened. I just got the phone and I absolutely love it and would not like to damage it. Are temps this high okay as long as the phone doesn't shut down or respond? Thanks in advance for any help.
